THE Echo hatch (five-door and three-door) has 205 litres of luggage space with the rear seats upright, extending to 305 litres by sliding the rear seats 150mm forward. The rear seat is a 60/40 split-fold design which also tumbles forward to create additional luggage space. The Eta beam rear suspension minimises intrusion into the cargo area, as does the use of a space-saver spare wheel. There might be an abundance of storage spaces in the cabin, but the luggage compartment goes without. Child seat anchorage points are located at the rear bumper, so tether straps will restrict the available space whenever employed.
