Future models - Honda - Accord - Type SHonda to launch hot diesel Accord in EuropeHigher-output diesel engine for new Type S Honda Accord9 Feb 2009 HONDA is moving to spice up its European diesel line up with a new higher-output Type S Accord. The new warm diesel will be presented at the Geneva motor show and will be available in both sedan and wagon. It is understood the upgraded diesel is the same basic unit as the 2.2-litre turbo diesel already available in Europe, but uses a larger intercooler, upgraded turbo and new cylinder head. It is understood the changes boost the engine’s output by 21kW and 30Nm for a healthy total of 131kW at 4000rpm and 380Nm at just 2000rpm. The special Accord is the first diesel Honda to be fitted with a Type S badge, which is usually reserved for high-revving petrol models. The Type S Accord sits on 18-inch alloy wheels and has clear indicator covers.
