New models - Nissan - Qashqai - e-powerNissan updates Qashqai e-Power line-upNew ST-L entry grade joins e-Power only Qashqai range, now available from $45,640 + ORC8 Jan 2026 By MATT BROGAN NISSAN has updated its Qashqai e-Power SUV range for 2026, adding specification and a new entry ST-L grade to its petrol-electric portfolio.
Now the sole powertrain for the Qashqai range, the e-Power system offers buyers improved fuel economy of 4.1 litres per 100km (-0.7L/100km) and lower CO2 emissions of 112 grams per kilometre (-20g/km) when compared with the preceding model.
It is also quieter than before (-5.6dB) and offers 10kW more power in Sport mode for “more responsive performance”.
Nissan Oceania managing director Andrew Humberstone said its decision to transition the Qashqai to an all e-Power line-up reflects both strong customer demand for the technology, and the brand’s commitment to delivering the latest technologies to Australian customers.
“The new Qashqai delivers the real-world efficiency of e-Power to Australian consumers in a right-sized package that’s further optimised across multiple fronts,” he explained.
Other changes to the MY26 Nissan Qashqai e-Power range include an enhanced 360-degree camera system with Eight-Point Around View, Skeleton Hood (see-through) View, and T-Junction View to make parking and manoeuvring even easier.
Qashqai Ti grades and above further adopt Nissan’s enhanced ProPilot driver assistance system, now with the ability to detect vehicles in adjacent lanes, updated lane keeping assist functionality, and improved display graphics.
Standard equipment highlights for the MY26 Qashqai range include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, NissanConnect connected car services, intelligent keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control, and a comprehensive suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility Safety technologies.
The MY26 Nissan Qashqai e-Power range will be available through Nissan’s national dealer network from March 2026, with further specification details to be announced in due course.
As previously, the model range is backed by Nissan’s extensive 10-year / 300,000-kilometre factory warranty when serviced at a Nissan dealership.
Nissan sold a total of 4478 Qashqai units in 2025, or 31.7 per cent fewer than in 2024.
Segment (SUV Small under $45K) leaders included the Hyundai Kona (22,769), Chery Tiggo 4 (20,149 units), MG ZS (20,000), GWM Haval Jolion (19,413), and Toyota Corolla Cross (12,686).
