Vale: Bill Tuckey

- Leading Australian motoring journalist, editor, author and broadcaster, Bill Tuckey – possibly the most prolific wordsmith in the automotive field in this country – has died at the age of 80 after a long battle with illness.

- In an era when cars were really quite poor and undeserving of the praise they received in some quarters, Bill developed a say-it-as-it-is ethos with the staff of the magazine, which saw him pioneer forthright opinions and multi-car comparison tests.
