Mercedes-Benz has brought new drivetrains, active safety features and low emission powerplants to its Vito workhorse and Valente people-mover.
The former is well-established in the commercial ranks but its price-point has been lowered with the addition of a front-wheel drive base variant to compete with its Volkswagen compatriots, as well as offerings from South Korea and Japan.
The Valente might not be a challenge for the Honda Odyssey that currently leads the sub-$60,000 people-mover segment for sales, but it is aiming to gather a fan base from those interested in active safety, space and a three-pointed star.
