How to use GoAuto to buy a new car

Step 1: Find a car to buy

GoAuto.com.au has great articles to help you work out the best car to suit your purse and your purpose.

When you have made up your mind on the car you want, or have a couple of really firm choices on your list, move to Step 2

Step 2: Contact us via the application form on each page of GoAuto.

Our friendly GoAuto Response Team works with you to generate a GoAuto Buyer Profile. This GoAuto Interview is designed to help participating dealers to start off on the right foot so they fully understand from the very beginning how they can best help you at this point of your purchase of a new car.



Step 3: Our friendly Response Team will be in touch with you by phone

GoAuto's friendly Response Team will be on the phone to chat with you about the car you want to purchase.

Step 4: GoAuto Connect prepares a written buyer profile

Our friendly GoAuto Response Team calls you to generate a buyer profile. This GoAuto Interview is designed to help participating dealers to start off on the right foot so they fully understand from the very beginning how they can best help you at this point of your search for a new car.

Just so you are prepared, Our team will be interested in:

  • What make and model you are interested in buying
  • What variant you would most like to buy
  • The features and equipment you will want to include in the car
  • Desired colours and trims
  • How you would like to pay for the car
  • Details on whether you are trading your current car with the dealer or selling it elsewhere
  • What would be the most suitable time for you to view the car at the dealership
  • When would be the best time to take a test drive
  • Would you would like the test car to be brought to your office or home or would you prefer to view and drive the car at the dealership

The interview is important so that our participating dealers know the exact car you want. This means they can come back to you with a fair price offer on a suitable car they have in stock.

Or, maybe, they might even offer you a similar great demo car at a great price because they are clearing it from stock.

Step 5: Dealers are sent your Buyer Profile for consideration

After our interview, our GoAuto Connect Response Team emails your written Buyer Profile to the nearest participating new car dealerships which are working with us to ensure you are looked after professionally.

At this stage the dealers do not know your full name and contact details because we want the dealers to respond with firm written Drive-Away offers at a fair price on a specific car based on your interview profile.

Step 6: GoAuto emails to you the price and availability offers from our dealers

GoAuto prepares up to five of these offers - with complete details of the dealerships and an image of the car - which are then separately forwarded to you by email.

You can then choose which of the offers are the most appealing and you can then contact the dealer direct to arrange to see the car or have a test drive.

Step 7: You contact the dealer with the most appealing offer or GoAuto follows up with you to make an appointment with a dealer of your choice

Once we have sent all the dealer offers to you, the GoAuto Response Team will be back in touch with you within a couple of days to assist you to make appointments with any of the responding dealers; if that will help you. Note: It is important that you keep your appointments with dealers.

From this point we will leave you to make your own arrangements with the dealer or dealers.

Step 8: Follow-up courtesy call from GoAuto

We report in writing to the dealers on the success of your inquiry and your satisfaction with the courtesy and respect shown to you.

From this point we will leave you to make your own arrangements with the dealer or dealers.

If you are still in the market, the GoAuto Response Team will let the dealer know or put you in touch with other dealers.

This allows us to make sure our participating dealer network is looking after our GoAuto readers.

Customer Terms and Conditions – New Car Lead enquires

Agreement

This is an agreement between GoAutoMedia Pty Limited ACN 094 732 457 of PO Box 18, Beach Road, Sandringham, VIC, 3191 (“we/us”), the owner and operator of the GoAuto.com.au website (“the website”) and the person wanting GoAuto.com.au to provide them with a lead for the purchase of a new car (“you”).

By completing a New Car Lead Enquiry, you agree to the terms and conditions and disclaimers and acknowledge the policies set out below.

Terms and Conditions

  • In order for us to effect a lead you must you must complete a New Car Lead Enquiry (“Enquiry”).
  • We will call you as soon as possible after you complete the Enquiry and certainly no later than the next business day. When we call, we will discuss with you your new car requirements.
  • You consent to our passing on the Enquiry and your requirements to an appropriate authorised motor car dealer as a lead.
  • We will contact you again in approximately eight days following your initial enquiry to check on the progress of the Enquiry.
  • While we will provide the dealer with the Enquiry and details of your new car requirements, we take no responsibility for what happens after passing on that material as a lead.
  • You acknowledge that we are a new car information service providing new car editorial information, pictures and prices to our customers as a guide only. Any new car prices published on the website are the manufacturers’ recommended retail prices and do not include delivery charges and on-road costs. Any authorized motor car dealer to which we pass on your Enquiry as a lead will provide you with full details of the price at which the vehicle will be sold to you.
  • You acknowledge that we do not sell motor vehicles. Any sale of a new car to you by a dealer after we have passed on your Enquiry to that dealer as a lead, is a sale by that dealer not by us.

Privacy Policy– New Car Lead Enquires

  • We take privacy very seriously. We understand that you will only complete an Enquiry if you can trust us to protect your personal information and use it appropriately. Our policy is to ensure that the personal information collected when you make an Enquiry is only used for the purposes of connecting you with an authorised motor car dealer.
  • We do not on-sell information collected from you or any other customer.
  • From time to time, we may email you with information or promotions that may be relevant for car buyers. You will continue to receive communications from us unless you tell us that you do not want to receive any advertising or promotional information in the future by unsubscribing from these communications.
