FPV upgrades F6 range

FORD Performance Vehicles’ first supercharged V8 models won’t break cover until the Bathurst 1000 on October 9-10, but that hasn’t stopped it announcing the release of a revised turbocharged six-cylinder F6 model line-up that now meets the Euro 4 emissions standard in force since July 1.

FPV’s cleaner-burning 4.0-litre inline turbo six models, which continue to produce peak power of 310kW and 565Nm of maximum torque, are now on sale without any price changes.

That means the automatic F6 Ute still opens the FPV range at $58,990 and continues to be complemented by the F6 sedan auto ($67,890) and F6E sedan auto ($79,740).

Despite the static pricetags, the F6 E sedan now comes standard with Alpine Silver multi-spoke alloy wheels, while FPV has also introduced a raft of minor cosmetic updates to strengthen its brand name for all models - a change that should transfer to its re-engined 5.0-litre ‘Coyote’ V8 models later this year.

Changes include the fitment of FPV badges to the steering wheel, dashboard and key fob for all three F6 models, plus a new-design build badge.

“FPV's models are constantly evolving,” said FPV general manager Rod Barrett. “We are always striving to give our cars a unique personality and a presence that we know appeals to our buyers.

“The compliance with Euro 4 has given us the opportunity to introduce these running changes, without affecting cost to our customers.

“And this is just a forerunner, of course ... we also have a very exciting new range of V8 models coming later in the year.”
