HYUNDAI has introduced capped price servicing to all vehicles in its line-up sold after 1 August 2012, via its iCare program.
The Korean car-maker’s latest offering matches competitors such as Subaru, Holden, Ford and Toyota that have had similar programs for some time.
Servicing costs vary from vehicle to vehicle in the Hyundai range, with diesel variants carrying a premium over petrol models.
The i20 and Accent light cars will be the cheapest Hyundais to service under the program, costing $189 for each annual service, or a maximum of $567 over three years.
The top-selling i30 hatch and Elantra sedan will cost customers a maximum of $219 for each annual service for the petrol models while their diesel siblings will cost $289.
Hyundai’s larger i40 and i45 petrol sedan models will have a capped price of $259 a year.
Hyundai’s SUV range will be the most expensive vehicles in the line-up to service, with the ix35 CRDi diesel costing $399 for each annual service and the Santa Fe oil-burner slightly cheaper at $379.
Hyundai Motor Company Australia director of aftersales Nick Aravanis said the iCare program will appeal to Hyundai customers.
“We aim to continue to provide a great service to our customers long after the sale has been made and the car has been taken home,” he said.
“The Hyundai iCare program with the inclusion of the Capped Price Service is an excellent way to broaden this commitment.”The capped price servicing will be available to all private and small business customers and will last for 50,000km or 40 months from the commencement date, whichever comes first.
Other benefits included in the iCare program are a complimentary service at 1500km or one month, NAVTEQ MapCare complimentary map updates, free 12-month roadside assistance on new vehicles and Hyundai’s five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Hyundai’s capped price servicing announcement comes as the Korean brand celebrates the sale of its one-millionth vehicle in Australia.
The milestone vehicle was an ix35 SUV sold at John Hughes’ dealership in Perth, the same dealer that sold the very first Hyundai in Australia in 1986.
