PEUGEOT has unveiled a midlife makeover for its 207 range, with updated light-sized hatchback, wagon and convertible due on sale in Australia by the end of this year.
On sale from August in Europe, where the 207 was the top-selling small car for the past two years, the facelift brings revised exterior and interior styling, new standard equipment and 12 engines.
In the first upgrade since the three and five-door hatchback went on sale here in February 2007 (followed by the 207 CC in July and the wagon in November), the freshened 207 will bring new front-end styling, more chromed and body-coloured exterior details and, for hatch and CC models, new LED tail-lights.
Inside, the revised 207 gets a new instrument panel plus updated trims and highlights designed to lift perceived quality, along with new equipment including the Peugeot Connect USB with Bluetooth entertainment system, a one-touch indicator, remote window closing on hatch and wagon models, and a one-touch driver’s window on the 207 CC.
Manual versions of the spruced-up 207 will come with a gearshift indicator to promote more fuel-efficient driving, and Peugeot says it is undertaking a gradual introduction of Euro V emissions-compliant engines, but provides no further details.
