HYUNDAI may have chosen the recent Chicago motor show to reveal its Kia Grand Carnival-based Entourage people-mover, but Switzerland’s Geneva show will play host the world debut of a "premium crossover" concept from the South Korean maker.
Dubbed Genus and revealed in a sketch prior to its public unveiling in Geneva on February 28, the five-door hatch concept is claimed to combine the dynamism of a coupe with the versatility of a wagon.
The work of Hyundai’s European design centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, Genus is a response to "the developing customer tastes and expectations Hyundai has identified in the upper medium D-segment".
Geneva will also play host to the European debut of Hyundai’s second-generation Santa Fe seven-seat SUV, which made it world debut at Detroit in January and goes on sale here mid-year.
