JUST days ahead of its official launch in Hamburg this week, Mercedes-Benz has released an online teaser video of its forthcoming S-Class limousine.
The video reveals a new headlight design reminiscent of the stylish A-Class hatch that was released earlier this year, as well as a new take on the S-Class’s trademark large slatted grille.
While the video does not reveal a lot of detail of the German marque’s flagship model, it does briefly show both of the digital screens that will dominate the dash plus new door insert designs and a close-up of the leather upholstery.
The official video comes after a brochure of the new-generation S-Class leaked online late last week, revealing more of the exterior and the fact that it will be available with a choice of three different engines.
The brochure revealed a 3.0-litre V6 diesel for the S350 Bluetec that is capable of 190kW, a 4.7-litre V8 petrol for the S500 producing 335kW and a 225kW 3.5-litre V6 for the S400 Hybrid will power the S-Class, powertrains for the Australian version are yet to be confirmed.
Mercedes-Benz has weathered a number of leaks for the 2013 S-Class.
Two weeks ago an image that appeared to be from a brochure revealing the exterior of the S-Class from the front also ended up online.
The S-Class is scheduled to go on sale in Australia in the final quarter of 2013 and promises to include new safety technology that has not been seen in other passenger vehicles as well as the usual array of luxury appointments.
