Tesla outs full Model X pricing

TESLA has announced pricing for its entire Model X seven-seat electric SUV line-up, ahead of deliveries kicking off later this year.

The California-based tech company released pricing for the base Model X 60D last month, confirming a starting price of $111,900, excluding on-road costs and luxury car tax.

As previously reported Tesla is offering a four-variant line-up that includes the 60D, 75D, 90D and performance flagship P90D.

Following the base 60D, the 75D is priced at $125,000, rising to $139,842 with luxury car tax is factored in, while the 90D is $143,000 before costs and $163,242 with the LCT thrown in.

Topping the range is the $172,100 ($201,072 inclusive of LCT) Model X P90D. The 90D and P90D cost $6300 more than their equivalent Model S sedan variants.

The flagship Model X is priced higher than Porsche’s Cayenne S E Hybrid ($143,100) and is not far off the price of the Range Rover Vogue diesel ($179,800), but lower than the Range Rover Vogue SE hybrid ($226,900).

Pricing for two other possible Model X rivals – Volvo’s plug-in XC90 and Audi’s Q7 e-tron – is yet to be revealed.

Electric range in the 75D is 417km and its 245kW/520Nm electric powertrain allows a 0-100km/h-dash time of 6.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 210km/h.

The 311kW/660Nm 90D has a 489km range, a 5.0s 0-100km/h sprint time and a 250km/h top speed.

In P90D guise, the Model X pumps out 346kW/830Nm – or 397kW/967Nm in Ludicrous mode – for a 467km range, 250km/h top speed and 4.0s 0-100km/h time that drops to 3.4s in Ludicrous.

Model X buyers will have free access to Tesla’s Supercharger network that is dotted along the eastern seaboard, as well as free access to maps and navigation with real time traffic information and regular over-the-air updates to safety, sat-nav and performance features.

Standard equipment includes LED headlights, power folding heated exterior mirrors, keyless entry, power tailgate, what Tesla says is the largest panoramic windscreen/sunroof in production and a front trunk that has room for a pair of strollers or a golf bag, and 2180 litres of storage capacity inside when it is in six-seat configuration.

Safety systems include autonomous emergency braking, a side collision avoidance system, a blind-spot warning and parking sensors, among other features.
