NISSAN has posted a teaser video on social media of what is almost certainly the next-generation Navara utility undergoing rigorous testing, ahead of its official reveal mid next week.
The 31-second clip was posted by Nissan on its official Facebook page yesterday following a teaser image of a sheet-covered vehicle posted on the car-maker’s global Instagram account with the words: “There’s a special member of the #Nissan Family on the way.”The clip shows the vehicle undergoing a range of testing from cold temperatures down to -19.9C plus hot, dry, snow and wet conditions, to dyno runs, wind tunnel testing and real-world off-road driving.
The shots are fast and close up and at no point is there a frame containing the entire vehicle.
Putting the pieces together, what we do know is that the vehicle has the updated Nissan family face with a large grille and chrome finished border.
Flanking the grille are redesigned headlights with LED daytime running lights.
The same chrome finish is applied to the fog light surrounds. A quick shot of the undercarriage of the rear of the vehicle reveals leaf-spring suspension and a solid axle.
The clip finished with the words “1,000,000km driven in real world conditions.
More than 40,000 tests for proven quality. June 11 2014.”It is now almost certain that the vehicle to be announced on June 11 is the new Nissan Navara which will be replacing the current D22 and D40 Navaras in Australia.
