LAMBORGHINI has set the motoring world humming by issuing an intriguing teaser image of a vehicle it supposedly will unveil at next month’s Paris motor show.
The simple white-on-black line drawing, in the form of an invitation to the Paris show, is accompanied by the caption: “Once perfection is achieved, you can just double it.”The reference to “double it” has drawn a speculation that the new car might be a four-door model to join the current two-door models, the Huracan and Aventador.
However, the image hints at an air scoop below the rear pillar, which in turn indicates the car is mid-engined, like Lamborghini’s other current models. If that is the case, it is unlikely to have room for more than two seats.
Design wise, the silhouette looks more like a new-age Miura more than any of the modern cars, with a more vertical windscreen and curved bonnet. By contrast, the Huracan and Aventador have more of a wedge shape, with the bonnet line continuing over the windscreen and roof in more or less a continuous curve.
A Porsche 911/Jaguar F-Type/Mercedes-AMG GT/Maserati Alfieri competitor? All will be revealed on October 2 in Paris.
