Land Rover Defender gets Limited again

Distinguished most obviously by their striking exterior paint colours – Zermatt Silver or, for the first time on a Defender, Nara Bronze – Land Rover’s newest limited-edition follows the local release of the facelifted Defender in 2007, the 60th anniversary Defender SVX in 2008 and the return of the short-wheelbase 90 Series wagon in late 2009.
On sale from March, the 2011 Defender Limited Edition will be available in both 90 Series ($51,190) and 110 Series ($55,250) station wagon guises, representing a price premium of about $6200 over the regular models upon which they are based.
For the extra money, both special-editions will feature a contrasting ‘Santorini Black’ roof and wheel-arch finish, new 16-inch ‘Saw Tooth’ alloy wheels with gloss-black finish and MTR tyres, and the choice of two interior colours: Ebony or the unique Ebony and Almond duo-tone.
Unique exterior features include an SVX-style grille with body-colour centre vanes, Santorini-black headlight surrounds, jewel-like front lights, clear indicator lenses, rear LED lights, anodised black chequer plate for the bumper tops and side sills, new Defender rear quarter badging and gloss black Land Rover bonnet lettering.
As with all Defender wagons and utes, the Limited Edition is powered by a 2.4-litre common-rail diesel engine and can be had with an extensive range of optional accessories.
