ACCORDING to the stuff of legend, it was Ford Australia that invented the ute – however, Holden’s updates to the VF Commodore range show there is always room for improvement.
The Holden Ute, with its single-skin side, has always been more of a two-seat sports car than a load-lugging workhorse.
Testament to that is the projected sales split when taking into account what rests under that shapely aluminium bonnet – up to half of sales are likely to be for the V8 engine, and not the V6.
Quieter and better-equipped than ever, the new Ute keeps the appeal.
