KIA’S first-generation Koup was all show and no go.
It was widely regarded as one of, if not the most visually appealing model the Korean car-maker had ever produced – and it is aging well – but it lacked the sporty performance that its sexy looks suggested.
Thankfully Kia addressed some of the performance shortcomings of its predecessor for the second-gen model that launched locally late last year, even going as far to fit it with the brand’s first ever turbo.
While it is not strictly a hardcore performance model, the Koup Turbo is expected to appeal to buyers wanting a sporty drive without parting with their life savings.
Does it give the Toyota 86 and Hyundai Veloster SR Turbo (it shares the latter’s engine) a run for their money in the lower end of the sportscar segment?
