Supercharger puffs up 422kW

WALKINSHAW Performance Products (WPP) has introduced a new supercharger reportedly capable of eliciting up to 422kW of power and 727Nm of torque from the General Motors LS3 V8.

Replacing the WP122 supercharger, the WP190 employs an Eaton Twin Vortices Series twin four-lobe high-twist 160-degree helix rotor group to force-feed 1.9 litres of intercooled air into the engine, which is used in all current V8 HSV cars.

According to WPP, this results in more usable torque lower in the rev range, with efficiency up 35 per cent compared with the WP122 unit.

Enclosed in WPP’s specially designed ‘Red Hot housing’, the WP190 Supercharger is quieter as well as more responsive and efficient.

Also featured with the WP190 are a new intake manifold, water-to-air intercooler, high flow injectors, cold air intake and ECU recalibration.

“The WP190 Supercharger brings unparalleled levels of power combined with efficiencies not seen before in a package of this nature,” WPP says.

A 12-month/20,000km warranty is provided with the WP190.
