NISSAN has given its 370Z coupe and cabriolet line-up a mild update for 2011 while increasing prices across the range by between $650 and $800.
The revised 370Z, which Nissan claims is Australia’s best-selling two-seater sportscar, gets additional equipment alongside minor safety and cosmetic improvements.
Changes include the addition of Nissan’s “next generation” audio and navigation system, which the company claims has more functionality and features, including a touch screen display, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, 9.3GB hard drive and reversing camera.
The 2011 Z range also gets new wide-angle mirrors that Nissan says “vastly improve rearward visibility in both the coupe and roadster, making parking and manoeuvring both easier and safer.” Prospective buyers can now also get a 370Z in ‘Gun Metallic’, a new colour to the range stolen straight from its big brother GT-R.
The Coupe variant also gets a luggage-bay cargo blind for hiding valuables from prying eyes, while the Roadster gets climate controlled seats that cool or heat the cushions.
All coupe models have been slugged with a $650 price increase, while an extra $800 has been added to the roadster range.
The 370Z took leadership of the VFACTS ‘Sports cars under $80,000’ segment in March, with 140 units and a 22 per cent market share. The Z’s yearly sales of 264 units put it equal-second in the yearly sales race alongside the Mercedes CLC-class, trailing only the BMW 1 Series (414 annual sales).
Nissan say supplies of the new 370Z are now reaching dealers nationwide.
The MY2011 370Z update comes on the tail of the GT-R update from late-March, which saw the Japanese marque make additions to its flagship models already staggering performance credentials.
