Honda gives Jazz the Vibe

The 1.3-litre Jazz Vibe and 1.5-litre Vibe-S are in dealerships now and will be on sale for the next three months only.
Kicking off the limited-edition range, the Jazz Vibe adds $1800 worth of extras and comes with a standard manual transmission or an optional automatic for an additional $2000.
Extras include cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, power retractable door mirrors, climate-control air-conditioning, paddle shifts, leather steering wheel and gear knob, and a tailgate spoiler.
The automatic-only 1.5-litre Vibe-S is available with $1100 worth of extras, including all the aforementioned add-ons from the Vibe, plus sports cloth trim and 16-inch alloy wheels instead of the Vibe’s 15-inch set.
Honda Australia director and general manager sales and marketing Stephen Collins said the limited edition Vibe models will boost the Jazz brand in Australia.
“For the months of February, March and April, the Jazz Vibe and Vibe-S are available to customers, strengthening our commitment to offer exceptional value for money,” he said.
The Jazz was the Japanese car-maker’s second-best-selling vehicle in 2012 with 9063 units, behind the Civic small car with 11,442 sales.
It was the ninth-best-selling vehicle in the light-car segment, which was headed by the Toyota Yaris, Mazda2, Hyundai i20, Holden Barina and Nissan Micra.
Honda is launching a hybrid version of the Jazz in Australia this month with a 1.3-litre engine combined with a 10kW electric motor mated to a CVT, producing fuel consumption figures of 4.7 litres per 100km.
