UPDATED 21/07/2016PEUGEOT is aiming to give its sales a shot in the arm by offering buyers added incentives on a number of models across its range for the next two months.
Following on from Peugeot’s driveaway offers in March, certain models from the 208 hatch, 2008 and 4008 crossover ranges, as well as the entire 308 range have had their pricing structure tweaked.
The limited-run 208 Active Special Edition kicks off the changes with the addition of a reversing camera, MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay, which allows for satellite-navigation capability, included for no extra cost.
The first 208 variant to include the Apple CarPlay feature, it will retain its recommended retail price of $21,990, and is limited to 100 examples.
The next model in the range, the 208 Allure has swapped its before on-roads price of $25,990 for driveaway pricing, representing a reduction of thousands of dollars.
Standard equipment in the Allure includes dual-zone climate control, sat-nav, self-parking, front parking sensors, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and leather steering wheel and gear lever.
Peugeot has footed the bill for registration, stamp duty and CTP insurance across its entire 308 small-car range, meaning buyers would save between $1700 for the base Access manual and $3000 for the range-topping GTi 270.
The price of the top-spec 2008 Outdoor has been trimmed significantly, with its original recommended retail price of $32,990 being cut to $29,990 driveaway.
It will mean a cost reduction of roughly $7000 for the sole diesel 2008, which uses a 1.6-litre 68kW/230Nm unit paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The 2008 Outdoor comes with sat-nav, dual-zone climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers and Grip Control which aids driving in different terrains such as mud and sand, as standard.
The Mitsubishi ASX-based 4008 Active receives a driveaway pricetag of $29,990 as well as an upgrade pack worth $2000 that includes 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome detailing. Overall customers would save about $6000 over the old 4008.
Lastly, Peugeot is offering 20 per cent off all battery and windscreen wiper replacements, which it says are the two most common problem items in the winter months.
All prices are valid until the end of September or until stocks run out.
Peugeot sales are steady so far this year compared with 2015, with 1989 units shifted against an even 4000 in the same period last year.
The 308 small hatch/wagon has comfortably been the French marque’s best seller this year, moving 762 units to the end of June. The 208 light hatch was next with 411, followed by the 4008 with 394.
