ISUZU Ute Australia (IUA) has joined Mitsubishi in offering a five-year/130,000km new-vehicle warranty on its ute range, but gone one better by adding roadside assistance for the full five years of the warranty period.
The new cover on D-Max comes into play from January 1, and will be a permanent fixture of Isuzu Ute sales conditions.
The previous warranty was three years or 100,000km, which ever came first, along with three years of roadside assistance.
Mitsubishi’s offer is five years or 130,000km, with one year of complimentary roadside assistance.
Most other ute companies offer the industry standard three-year, 100,000km cover.
Announcing the new warranty, IUA managing director Yasuhiro Takeuchi said his company prided itself on building the most durable, reliable and efficient utes in the Australian one-tonne market.
“Today’s announcement is testament to the immense confidence we have in our engineering,” he said.
“Our new warranty – supported by an extended roadside assistance package – is also a commitment to our future customers that they are investing in a quality product and provides them with absolute peace of mind when it comes to protecting their investment.” The warranty is transferable if the vehicle is sold, but does not apply to Isuzu accessories, which have their own warranty conditions.
IUA introduced the new Thai-built D-Max into the Australian market in June, helping to lift Isuzu 2012 sales by 18.4 per cent to the end of November.
A second Isuzu model – the D-Max-based MU-7 SUV – is expected to join the range in 2013.
