Citroen cuts Picasso pricing

CITROEN Australia has slashed $4000 from the price of its C4 Picasso HDi auto for the month of May only, by offering its 2.0-litre diesel-powered people-mover for the same price as the 2.0-litre petrol auto version - $39,990.

The move hopes to ride the surge in sales of diesel passenger car sales to private buyers, which has increased by 50 per cent so far this year – compared to a five per cent drop in petrol-powered passenger cars sales.

“People-movers are, for obvious reasons, predominantly bought by families and it is families who are usually the first to feel the affects of a tightening economy,” said the general manager for Citroen in Australia, Miles Williams.

“So we have moved to make the best family car on the market even more accessible in the diesel version, which will go on saving money throughout its life on the road, as well as saving at least $4000 at the point of purchase.

“Add in the C4 Picasso’s long list of standard equipment, intelligent design, the environmental advantages of cutting fuel consumption with a diesel and its five star EuroNCAP safety rating and the C4 Picasso is, clearly, the ideal family car.”
