BARLOWORLD Volkswagen Mascot, in Sydney’s south, has won three categories at the German brand’s annual Dealer of the Year awards, including the coveted national title, central region and top commercial vehicle dealer for 2011.
Part of the Barloworld Motor Australia group, which includes among its network two Volkswagen dealerships in both Sydney (Mascot and Five Dock) and Melbourne (Glen Waverley and Moorabbin), the Mascot branch was described as a “deserving winner” by Volkswagen Group Australia managing director Anke Koeckler.
“Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot performed incredibly well,” Ms Koeckler said in presenting the award to dealer principal Darryl Pribut at a gala event in Sydney recently.
“However, recognition should be given to the entire Volkswagen dealer network 2011 was a busy year for all of us and we would not have been able to achieve the sales figures we did without the commitment and hard work from all of our dealers.”As GoAuto has reported, Volkswagen sales rose 17.7 per cent last year to 44,740 units – another record for the brand and a total that took it to eighth place on the Australian charts, with a 4.4 per cent market share.
Other 2011 award winners announced on the night were: John Oxley Volkswagen in Port Macquarie, New South Wales (rural DOTY) Gold Coast Volkswagen in Southport, Queensland (northern region) Camberwell Volkswagen in Melbourne’s east (southern region) and Albany Volkswagen in WA (western region).
The latter was Albany Volkswagen’s third consecutive western region DOTY gong.
The 2010 national DOTY award presented last year went to South Yarra Volkswagen in Melbourne’s inner-south.
