MAZDA Australia has issued a recall notice for 1160 Mazda3 MPS hot hatches circulating in Australia.
The recall notes that – in the worst-case scenario – the driveshaft could become detached should a bolt securing the engine and transmission assembly loosen to the point where it falls out or breaks.
According to Product Recalls Australia, the models to be scrutinised were built between May 22, 2006 and May 14, 2007 - virtually all examples of the car sold since it was launched here in July last year.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail.
