A NEW people-mover has been long overdue at Mazda. The company has been coping with its big rear-drive MPV against more efficient, state-of-the-art competition for some time. The latest, front-drive MPV represents a step into the 21st century. It is slightly bigger outside, much bigger inside, yet lighter and more efficient. It's also well loaded with standard equipment, and rates well in safety with standard ABS and dual airbags. The only real beefs are the clumsy column auto shift and the less than user-friendly removable seats.
