A MID-LIFE makeover for the nation’s most popular SUV only reinforces how perfectly suitable the Mazda CX-5 is for Australian families.

Pin it down and the CX-5 is the right size, right shape and has a broad model and price range to suit most budgets.

More than 21,500 found buyers last year. More are expected in 2015 so why does it need an upgrade? Basically, a lot has happened technology-wise since the wagon was launched in 2012.

The January 2015 update brought a 7.0-inch touchscreen with an expanded connectivity suite, electric park brake and a more comprehensive safety package offered either standard or as an option.

Prices are generally lower than the outgoing model. There’s no reason now to suggest the CX-5 will topple from its mantle this year.
