Geneva show: Mercedes S-Class coupe leaks out

THE first high resolution image of Mercedes-Benz’s stunning new S-Class Coupe flagship has leaked online weeks out from its scheduled global premiere at the Geneva motor show.

The car you see here is the production version of the well-received concept from last September’s Frankfurt show. Mercedes appears to have stuck to the script with the road car by making few substantial changes.

The luxury two-door will sit atop the Benz passenger range – excluding the SLS supercar – and serve as a replacement for the CL-Class.

Expect the powertrains and cabin design to echo the S-Class sedan. As with the four-door, the range will likely include a 430kW/900Nm S63 AMG derivative. Expect also all of the sedan’s wild technology including its road-reading Magic Ride system to carry over.

At 5050mm long, 1958mm wide and 1409mm high on a 2945mm wheelbase, the Frankfurt concept was 10mm shorter than the CL and 220mm shy of the sedan. It is unclear if these dimensions will carry over to the real deal.

The Geneva motor show kicks off March 6.
