BMW Z4 gets a refresh

BMW’s Australian Z4 range will undergo a facelift with the introduction of new interior and exterior styling later this year.

Overseas markets will also get a cheaper entry version dubbed the sDrive18i powered 115kW/240Nm 2.0-litre turbo engine, however BMW Australia has ruled out importing this base version.

The exterior of the roadster gets subtle tweaks to the front and rear lights as well as newly designed and chrome-highlighted side vents.

A new range of 17 and 18-inch alloy wheel designs offer further choices when tailoring the exterior appearance of the Z4.

The outgoing Design Pure Impulse cosmetic package is replaced by the Design Pure Traction package that offers three new paint colours: Mineral Grey, Glacier Silver and Valencia Orange.

The new version is accompanied by matching orange upholstery stitching, door trim panels, lower instrument panel and interior pin-striping.

An optional M Sport package allows a liberal application of BMW’s esteemed M-badge to the Z4 interior as well as modifications to the suspension, aerodynamics and body vents.

If the Professional navigation is specified, internet based services are accessible and real-time traffic information is available as well as a range of BMW applications for the iPhone.

The current Australian Z4 range is comprised of the sDrive20i, sDrive28i, sDrive35is.

The first new-look Z4s are due to arrive in Australia this July.
