Mini lobs Rosewood Edition Hatch from $59,250 + ORC
COUNTERING the darkened, stealthy appearance of the Nightfall Edition, Mini Australia has launched the Rosewood Edition; a limited run of kitted out ‘Indian Summer Red’ Cooper S grades priced from $59,250 plus on-road costs.
Limited to just 40 units nationally, the Rosewood Edition is available both in three-door and five-door guise and essentially dispenses with the Cooper S’ options list – Mini says it all pretty much comes as standard.
“As far as bold statements go, a dashing-looking Mini is hard to top,” Mini Australia and New Zealand general manager Brett Waudby said.
“With the Rosewood Edition Mini Hatch, we’ve taken the options rulebook and tossed it – making a car that is truly special.
“As we approach spring and summer, this burst of colour from Mini is sure to bring a smile to fans all around the country.”
Needless to say then that the standard kit on the Rosewood Edition is extensive, consisting of a panoramic sunroof, piano black interior and edition-specific 3D-printed dash fascia, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, front and rear park distance control, anthracite headliner, Mini Yours Leather Lounge in carbon black, Mini Yours Wakkanappa sports steering wheel, side scuttle and entry sills with Rosewood design, adaptive LED headlights, Union Jack tail-lights and Comfort Access.
Infotainment duties are taken care of by an 8.8-inch touchscreen display featuring Apple Carplay, Mini Navigation system with real time traffic information, reversing camera, Mini connected drive services as well as emergency call and teleservices.
The Rosewood Edition also brandishes a few extra visual cues in addition to its striking paint job, those being black 17-inch Cosmos spoke wheels and piano black badging.
Under the bonnet resides the same 141kW/280Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine as the regular Cooper S, still good for a 6.7-second dash from 0-100km/h in three-door guise – the five-door takes an extra 0.1s.
Fuel economy meanwhile also remains the same with the three-door sipping 5.5 litres per 100km, besting the five-door by 0.1L.
Mini has sold 929 Hatches so far this year ending August, giving the brand a 66.9 per cent stranglehold on the $25,000-plus light car segment, well ahead of the Audi A1 (359/25.8%).
