Rolls-Royce prices Ghost from $628,000 + ORC

ROLLS-ROYCE Asia Pacific has announced pricing for its all-new, second-generation Ghost executive sedan, with the plush limousine arriving in Australia priced from $628,000 plus on-road costs ahead of first local deliveries in the first quarter of 2021.

 

The two-variant line-up is topped by the long-wheelbase Extended grade, which incurs a sizeable $112,000 premium to check in at $740,000.

 

The luxury British car-maker claims the Ghost Extended features the greatest amount of rear legroom of any four-seat sedan, with a 170mm increase over the standard Ghost, which itself has grown in length by 89mm over the previous version.

 

To make the Extended as visually similar to the regular Ghost as possible, Rolls-Royce designers have tried masking the extra length by only extending the rear door and body around the rear door apertures.

 

For the first time, Ghost Extended buyers can option the reclining Serenity Seat feature, which the brand claims provides a level of cruising comfort similar to that of a business jet.

 

Wedged between the rear seats is a champagne fridge with two temperature settings, designed to provide optimum serving temperature for contemporary and vintage champagne, in accordance with the consultation of a master sommelier.

 

A high-tech air purification system helps keep the interior as comfortable as possible, while WiFi access allows for rear-seat occupants to work while on the go.

 

As previously detailed, the new-gen Ghost is powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine producing 420kW/850Nm, driving all four wheels with four-wheel steering included as standard to help the big barge around tight corners and in parking spaces.

 

Rolls’ signature Magic Carpet Ride has been made more comfortable with the new Planar Suspension System, which enhances the self-levelling air suspension with a series of road-reading cameras to adjust for road bumps, as well as a new upper wishbone damper unit above the front suspension assembly.

 

Over 100kg of acoustic insulation material has been used to make the cabin as quiet as possible, with the cabin able to be specified with a wide range of the highest-quality materials and trims.

 

To the end of August, Rolls-Royce has sold a combined 29 vehicles Down Under, marking a 23.7 per cent downturn over the same period last year.
