Nissan adds ST-L+ and Ti Energy Orange to Juke range
NISSAN Australia has bolstered its local Juke line-up with the addition of two new variants, those being the high-end ST-L+ and flagship Ti Energy Orange.
Priced from $35,140 and $36,490 plus on-road costs respectively, Nissan says the new variants are designed to provide its customers with more choice and ‘all-new’ levels of personalisation.
Based on the mid-range ST-L, the new ST-L+ bridges the admittedly narrow $2550 price gap to the top-spec Ti with a few key standard equipment upgrades over its donor car.
Standard equipment highlights on the normal ST-L include 19-inch alloy wheels, ambient interior lighting, a 7.0-inch ‘advanced drive assist display’, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, six-speaker sound system, three drive modes, electric park brake, push button start, auto-dimming rearview mirror and rain-sensing front wipers.
The ST-L+ ups the ante primarily through the inclusion of an eight-speaker Bose sound system, white leather accented interior, black chrome front headrest finishers, centre console and front door trim.
Checking in from the same $36,490 pricetag as the regular Ti, the new Ti Energy Orange’s standard kit list reads exactly the same as its donor car’s apart from one key detail; its black and orange leather-accented interior.
For reference, other Ti-specific equipment includes follow-me-home headlights, privacy glass, 19-inch Akari alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, illuminated ‘Juke’ entry kick plates and everything listed above on the ST-L+ (save for the white leather accented interior).
All Jukes are powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 84kW/185Nm, all of which is channelled to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Nissan Australia managing director Stephen Lester described the Juke as “a small SUV that’s big on personality” and said customers would be sure to love the new additions.
“The Juke ST-L+ and Ti Energy Orange will allow even more of that personality to shine through, with two unique interior options that add even more excitement to the cabin experience,” he said.
Nissan has sold 743 Jukes so far this year ending March, equating to a 5.6 per cent share of the light SUV segment, a fair way off the pace of the segment-leading Mazda CX-3 (4467/33.7%).
