Porsche unveils 718 Style Edition

PORSCHE has announced a pair of Style Edition specials for its 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman sportscars with first deliveries to Australian customers due in the second half of 2023.

 

The mid-engined duo will be priced from $128,600 for the Boxster and $125,800 for the Cayman (plus on-road costs) and bring what Porsche says are fresh colours and harmonious contrast packages that in part draw inspiration from the brand’s 964-series 911 Carrera RS.

 

Both ride on 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels in high-gloss black, and the wheel hub covers feature coloured Porsche crests. The Style Edition is also recognisable by its black sport tailpipes and Porsche lettering in high gloss silver.

 

On the 718 Boxster Style Edition, Boxster lettering is embossed on the fabric roof above the side windows.

 

Further, customers may choose between two 718 Style Edition contrast packages at no extra charge; one in black, the other in white. Both include decorative stripes on the luggage compartment lid at the front and Porsche decorative lettering on the side, and well as black and white high-gloss paint finishes for the wheels and model designations at the rear, respectively.

 

Inside, the Style Edition models feature a leather package in black including contrast stitching in Crayon, illuminated door sill panels in stainless steel and the Porsche crest on the headrests.

 

Additional standard equipment on the Style Editions includes bi-xenon headlights, LED DRLs, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, Apple CarPlay, cruise control and auto-dimming mirrors with rain-sensor.

 

Style Edition variants are further differentiated by a heated smooth leather multifunction steering wheel, heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, floor mats with contrast stitching in Crayon and leather upholstery in black with contrast stitching in Crayon.

 

In Australia, the Style Edition models also come standard with Porsche Dynamic Light System, Lane Change Assist, keyless entry and ignition, an alarm with interior monitor, 14-way Sport seats with memory package, Light Design Package, and Porsche Connect with navigation and digital radio.

 

The usual extensive – and expensive – range of Porsche options remains available, although speed-sensitive ‘Power Steering Plus’ is a no-cost option.

 

As the Style Editions are based on the entry-level 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, both are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine developing 220kW/380Nm.

 

They come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, a seven-speed dual-clutch (PDK) unit available optionally.

 

Porsche quotes a 0-100kmh acceleration time of 5.1 seconds for manual variants and 4.9 seconds for PDK-equipped models. Both have a top speed of 275km/h.

 

Australian deliveries are expected to commence from the second half of 2023.
