Updated Evoque scores bevy of tech updates

BY MATT BROGAN | 21st Jun 2023

RANGE ROVER has updated its Evoque small SUV for 2024 with a bevy of technology updates – including new Pixel LED headlights and additional cameras – adding $2200 to the entry price of the range, and up to $3690 more elsewhere.

Here from December, the updated Evoque will now be priced from $81,800 plus on-road costs in P250 Dynamic SE trim, climbing to $117,300 + ORC for the new plug-in hybrid P300e Autobiography range-topper.

Visually, the revised model is characterised by a new-look grille that brings the Evoque into line with other Range Rover models.

As well as the new Pixel LED headlights, the Evoque gains an updated DRL signature, eight new alloy wheel designs – including five diamond-turned options in sizing up to 21 inches – and paint finishes that now include Arroios Grey, Tribeca Blue and Corinthian Bronze.

Interior changes are more significant, with the centre console and stack revised to include a larger curved 11.4-inch  Pivi Pro infotainment array set higher and closer to the driver.

A wireless smartphone charger is added as standard, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, while cloud-based dual eSIM technology brings a comprehensive range of connected services including Amazon Alexa, Deezer and Spotify integration.

Sophisticated cabin air filtration arrives as standard on Autobiography grades, and optionally as part of the Comfort Pack on other variants, which Range Rover says promotes wellbeing and heightened alertness for occupants by filtering out CO2 and particulate matter.

Land Rover says the system also significantly reduces odours, bacteria and allergens from entering the cabin.

Further forward, carryover 184kW/365Nm P250 (four-cylinder mild hybrid) and 227kW/540Nm P300e (three-cylinder plug-in hybrid) units remain, however both are now available in conjunction with top-tier Autobiography trim.

Pairing a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine with an 80kW electric motor and 14.9kWh lithium-ion battery, the P300e PHEV delivers up to 66km of all-electric range and a 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds. Total “real-world” range is listed at 651km with CO2 emissions of 49 grams per kilometre.

The variant is compatible with DC fast charging systems to allow a battery recharge time of as little as 30 minutes.

Orders for the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque are now open with first shipments expected in local showrooms from December.
