MAZDA has given its popular CX-30 range a shake up, with new pricing, a new GT SP grade, the deletion of manual models, and the deletion of certain grades.
Available from January and priced from $32,990 plus on-road costs, the entry point to the CX-30 range is some $1380 more than last month, and now tops out at $47,390 +ORC in Astina AWD form, an increase of $1680.
The all-automatic CX-30 range will arrive without the mild hybrid G20e Evolve and X20 Astina variants, and without the G25 Touring AWD and Touring SP grades. It is headlined by the introduction of the G25 GT SP grade, which fits in between the Touring and Astina grades priced from $42,190 +ORC.
Mazda says the model offers a sleeker and more sporty appearance, adding black alloy wheels, a blackened grille, and piano black mirror caps. Inside, the CX-30 GT SP features heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, burgundy-coloured upholstery, a glass sunroof, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a “vibrant” 10.25-inch infotainment screen.
The connectivity enhancements also feature as standard on updated Touring and Astina grades, while the Vision Technology Pack is available optionally on Pure, Evolve, Touring, and GT SP grades.
The $2000 pack (+$500) offers a 360-degree camera system, driver monitoring, front cross-traffic alert, and adds the larger 10.25-inch screen and front parking sensors to Pure and Evolve grades.
Other interior changes include an updated steering wheel with dark-look switchgear, a revised HVAC panel and slimmer cup holders. White leather upholstery is now deleted from the spec sheet.
Front-wheel drive G20 variants feature a retuned version of the carryover 114kW/200Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. It now returns 6.3 litre per 100km (-0.2l/100km) on the ADR Combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 147 grams per kilometre (-5g/km).
The G25 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol is unchanged, delivering 139kW and 252Nm with the option of all-wheel drive on GT SP and Astina grades.
Both engine options arrive as standard with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Two new paint colours also join the revised Mazda CX-30 range, with Zircon Sand and Ceramic Metallic now available. Sonic Silver is deleted.
Mazda has extended the service intervals of its CX-30 range to 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first, offering what it says is “even greater value for money”.
