Ram 2500, 3500 recalled over DPF sensor

RAM Trucks Australia has issued a recall notice for 1294 of its 2500 and 3500 models fitted with potentially faulty diesel particulate matter sensors.

The recall affects vehicles converted to right-hand drive locally by American Special Vehicles between 2021 and 2022.

According to the recall notice issued on the Australian government’s Vehicle Recalls website, the sensors may not have been installed during assembly, which could increase vehicle emissions and block the diesel particulate filter (DPF).

If this occurs, the vehicle may provide limited power and performance, leading to the engine stalling.

The recall notices states that in such an event, the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users is possible.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their authorised Ram dealership to arrange to have the particulate matter sensor inspected, and if required, install a new sensor.
