NSW dealer first local BMW Classic partner

WORTHINGTON BMW, based on the NSW Central Coast, is Australia’s first factory certified BMW Classic partner authorised to offer classic and historic vehicle (BMW) restoration, service and maintenance work.

The owner of the dealership, Mr Brad Worthington, has a penchant for older, classic BMWs often featuring some of the more desirable models including race cars front of house.

The appointment is a tidy fit for Mr Worthington who gleaned extensive experience in the brand selling used BMWs in Sydney before Worthington BMW came into being.

Over the years and through connections in the trade and BMW clubs, he has secured numerous early and sought after high performance M3 and M5 models, coupes, early 7 Series limousines and other more unusual and collectable BMWs in an inventory that attracts attention locally and nationally.

Mr Worthington is also known to often take these prized models on road or racetrack drives with other BMW owners.

With the official appointment as a BMW Classic partner, Worthington BMW moves to the next step being able to restore and repair older and collectable models with the imprimatur of the factory giving it access to special parts and technical information from the factory and the BMW museum in Munich which operates a large-scale restoration program.

The BMW Classic partner program has already proven successful in other countries offering owners of historic BMWs the opportunity to meticulously restore and maintain their highly treasured and valuable vehicles, ensuring they remain roadworthy and timeless.

To ensure global standards are met, experts from the company’s BMW Group Classic department in Munich provide comprehensive technical training to the staff at Worthington BMW.

Worthington BMW says this investment in training and specialised workshop equipment to undertake service and maintenance work underscores the dealership’s commitment to invest in offering excellence in every restoration project.

Wolfgang Buechel, CEO of BMW Group Australia, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “BMW’s heritage, dates back 108 years, is extremely important to our brand. The introduction of BMW Classic service has been successfully offered at our BMW Group Classic department in Munich for many years”.

“With a vibrant community of classic BMW enthusiasts in Australia, including 15 BMW clubs nationwide that have over 5000 members, this service will be a one-stop shop for customers who want to restore or maintain their classic BMWs in top condition, ensuring that they continue to enjoy the brand’s “Sheer Driving Pleasure,” he added.

To mark the launch of BMW Classic at Worthington BMW, eight classic vehicles are on display in the showroom, allowing enthusiasts and customers to get up close and personal with these timeless classic vehicles.

Worthington BMW joins 151 dealers worldwide in offering the BMW Group Classic program, providing customers access to specialised services for their classic BMWs.

BMW Australia says it is “committed to further expanding this unique service, working alongside our strong network of 48 dealers across the nation.”
