Alfa 147 now for $35,000

ALFA Romeo Australia has reduced the price of its 147 five-door hatch to $35,000 in the lead-up to the arrival of a facelifted model in July.

The new price applies to the entry-level 147 Twin Spark five-door manual with cloth seats, representing a saving of $4500.

Standard equipment includes ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, twin front and side airbags, ASR traction control, VDC stability control, front and rear fog lights, dual-zone climate control, alloy wheels, cruise control, power windows/mirrors and a CD sound system with remote control.

Pricing for the 147 Twin Spark three-door manual remains unchanged at $39,500, as does that of the rest of the 147 range, which includes the 147 Selespeed three-door ($41,500), 147 Ti Twin Spark three-door manual ($39,990), 147 Selespeed five-door ($42,500), 147 Ti Selespeed three-door ($42,990) and 184kW 3.2-litre V6 GTA models ($59,990 manual, $63,990 Selespeed).

"The Alfa Romeo 147 has always offered outstanding value for money, but this price places it in a different league, which makes this a once in a lifetime offer," said ARA general manager Kevin Wall.

"It’s more than just a matter of equipment, too. At this price level, most of the Alfa 147’s direct rivals have 1.6-litre engines. The Alfa 147 not only has a 2.0-litre engine, it is the acclaimed Alfa Romeo Twin Spark race bred engine that pumps out 110kW.

"So there can be no doubt that the Alfa 147 offers cracking performance, high levels of equipment and, at $35,000, an amazing price," he said.
