AN updated version of Alfa Romeo's 166 luxury car is being revealed at the Frankfurt motor show this week.
The good news for Aussie fans and the local importer who has watched sales dwindle away, is that the new 166 will be in Australia before the end of 2003.
Primarily a styling update by Alfa’s styling centre, the 166 includes a new "shield grille, headlights and surrounding bumper and bonnet".
Inside the new Alfa Romeo 166 there is an extensive change to materials, colours and trims.
The 166 update is far from the star of the Alfa stand at Frankfurt, with the Italian company revealing a 300kW supercharged supercar concept as well as the production version of the GT Coupe.
