ALFA Romeo will use this month’s Paris motor show to unveil the production version of its forthcoming range-topping coupe.
The 8C Competizione features a longitudinally mounted 336kW/470Nm 4.7-litre V8 engine driving the rear wheels via a six-speed "robotised" gearbox.
This is a departure from the 330kW 4.2-litre supercharged V8 that appeared on the concept car – but it could be just as quick.
The suspension remains a double-wishbone configuration front and rear, and massive 20-inch wheels continue – although the tyres are now 245/35s at the front and 285/35s at the rear.
The Porsche 911 rival will not be built in RHD – but 16 Aussie customers have still expressed interest in buying one.
