AUDI’S first e-tron-branded vehicle in Australia finds its way in the A3 Sportback, bringing with it a plug-in electric hybrid drivetrain with about 50km of pure EV range.

After that, it’s an intriguing mix of German small car quality and low-emissions smarts, but a steep entry price and business-as-usual styling means the frugal little five-door may find it hard to curry favour with fuel prices so low.
