IMPROVEMENTS to a base model's engine are always welcome but the most interesting mechanical feature is without doubt the smooth, responsive multitronic (continuously variable) automatic transmission. Other items of note include all-aluminium suspension and other lightweight technology now appearing throughout the range. The overall shape is more appealing and aerodynamic (now down to 0.28Cd), while the interior can accommodate passengers more comfortably with improved space and quality materials found in all directions.
