THOUGH it shares a number of styling cues with the Audi A6 4.2 quattro upon which it's based, the S6 has its own distinguishing characteristics such as unique wheels and grille. Flared wheel arches draw the eye to those 17-inch six-spoke wheels and low-profile Z-rated tyres, while the S-specific grille is finished in granite grey with vertical ribs and a chrome surround. Polished aluminium is used on the external mirrors and stainless steel on the pair of exhaust tailpipes. The body is 10mm lower than the A6 4.2 quattro. Aluminium is used on the hood and front side panel to save weight. Discreet S6 badging can be found on the grille and bootlid aluminium doorsill trims are also used.
