Audi forecasts diesel too

AUDI Australia chief Joerg Hofmann is as enthusiastic about the take-up of diesel engines Down Under as his counterpart at BMW, Guenther Seemann – but not as optimistic.

Speaking to GoAuto last week, Mr Hofmann said “very soon” he expected 30 per cent of Audi cars sold in Australia to be diesel.

By contrast, the BMW boss said last month that 80 per cent of all passenger cars sold in Australia by 2013 would be diesel.
