AUDI has lifted the performance of its stunningly sleek R8 super-coupe to even higher levels, thanks to a bristling new direct-injection 5.2-litre V10 from sister brand Lamborghini. The R8 5.2 FSI sets a new price benchmark for Audi in Australia and easily knocks off the V8-powered R8 4.2 FSI as the German brand’s quickest model. With an unrestricted top speed of 316km/h, the R8 V10 is also the fastest Audi ever produced, making it directly comparable to some of the world’s finest supercars. The $351,000 R8 is hard to pick from the outside, however, with only LED headlights, more grille choming, new wheels and oval exhaust outlets separating it from the $73,800-cheaper R8 V8.
