HOT on the heels of the first Australian public sighting of the new M3 comes news of the M3 cabrio, which goes on sale in Europe in the northern spring next year. Mechanically, the cabrio is the same as its coupe cousin, but adds the features of the existing cabrio models - electric seats with integrated safety belts, variable roof compartment and rollover safety system.
Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, acceleration from rest to 100km/h takes 5.5 seconds and fuel consumption is 12.1 litres/100km.
Price of the new car in Germany is Dm 113,000, but its availability in Australia is still undecided. The M3 coupe will sell here for $136,500.
