BMW M3 sedan confirmed

BY DAVID HASSALL | 17th Jun 2008

AUSTRALIA will soon get its first four-door version of the M3, with BMW confirming the sedan version will come here by the end of 2008.

The M3 sedan will be the cheapest variant, with an anticipated price of around $145,000 – $12,000 less than the two-door coupe and about $24,000 less than the forthcoming convertible.

Unlike the M3 coupe, the 309kW V8-engined sedan will not have a lightweight carbon-fibre roof but will otherwise be identically equipped.

M3 sedan production for Australia will begin in September/October and the first deliveries are expected here in late December or early January.

BMW did not offer the previous sedan here (the E36 of 1992-2000) and there was no sedan variant of the superseded E46 range (2000-2007), so this will be the first M3 sedan sold in Australia.
