PASSIVE and active features are in abundance in the BMW 5 Series, with all aspects of the car's performance on the road, and in the event of a crash, carefully considered. Three-point seatbelts and headrests are provided for all passengers, and rear outboard occupants are now protected by side and now (optional) rear head airbags. That brings the total airbag count to 10. Traction control, stability control, ABS brakes, front seatbelt pretensioners, high-strength steel body with integrated passenger safety cell - we could go on. It doesn't get much better than this.
