BMW is claiming a revolution, with the radical i3 hatch touted as the world’s first premium car purpose-designed from the ground up for an electric drive system.

That’s quite a call, but after quality time with the futuristic Bavarian urbanite, we’re convinced that it really does provide something genuinely fresh and desirable within the eco sphere.

As buyers in Oz seem to keep ignoring EVs, we’re glad someone is out there trying to lure them via their hearts.

It may just work! And, you know what? The i3’s a damn fine drive to boot.
