THE X5 has as long a list of acronyms describing its dynamic systems as you're likely to find. The X5 comes with anti-lock braking, cornering brake control, dynamic stability control, automatic stability control, automatic differential brake and hill descent control. Cornering brake control (CBC) works to control dynamic forces when the car is braking and cornering at the same time. Dynamic stability control (DSC) applies braking to any of the four wheels to pre-empt under or oversteer. Automatic stability control (ASC-X) controls wheelspin to keep the vehicle on a chosen line if traction is lost under power. Automatic differential brake (ADB-X) sends power to the wheels with grip in slippery situations. Hill descent control - also used on Land Rover vehicles - automatically maintains downhill speed between five and ten km/h on steep descents.
